Our JR Hospital is in crisis, thanks to the Tories

Almost 800 planned operations have been cancelled in Oxfordshire so far this winter, a worse performance than anywhere else in the country.

A&E performance has also worsened, with only 86% of patients seen within four hours during the October to December period, when the target is 95%.

Perhaps this isn't surprising when there are 160 beds 'blocked' by patients waiting for their homes to be adapted or a place in a care home to become available. There is an urgent need to integrate the NHS with social care - and Labour will do precisely that if elected in May.

Labour will also ensure that the NHS is properly resourced by raising funds with a mansion tax on houses worth more than £2 million. The Tories wasted £3 billion on a top down reorganisation that nobody wanted - that's £3 billion that could have been spent on patient care.
